Mathieu and Chua have become a familiar pair on the concert scene over the past several years. Véronique has performed vefry widely. She has given solo performances in China, Georgia, Italy, Vietnam, as well as world premieres. for example. Stephanie has been Veronique's pianist in most of th ose events. In a ddition, she has pefrformed in solo and chamber recitals across Canada, Europe and Asia.
Their program is a special one, being devoted entirely to women composers: Isabella Leonarda (1620-1704) -- Sonata Duodecima no. 12, Op. 16 ; Pauline Viardot (1821-1910) Sonatine for violin and piano . Amy Beach (1867-1944) Mazurka Invocation ; Florence Price (1887-1953) Elfentanz, The Deserted Garden, and Fantasy no. 2 in f#, based on a folk melody; Alice Ping Yee Ho (1960-) Spring Summer Extasis; Louise Farrenc (1804 - 1875) Sonata No. 2 for violin and piano in A , Op.39; Cécile Chaminade (1857-1944) Serenade Espagnole for violin and piano (arranged by Fritz Kreisler)
