Celebrating 20 years of music with a message, LA EXCELENCIA is a powerful salsa band from New York, known for blending the strength and energy of 1970s hard salsa with the urgency and sociopolitical reality of today. Since their founding in 2006, LA EXCELENCIA has earned a reputation for bringing raw, uncompromising authenticity back to salsa, creating a sound that is as thought-provoking as it is danceable.

With percussion at the forefront, powerful horns, and lyrics that speak unfiltered truths, LA EXCELENCIA offers more than just music—it offers a movement. As The New York Times described: “This is unvarnished hard salsa… the sound of a strong, working-class band.”
